White Edge - Peak District Walk

In choosing today's walk I had to take two factors into consideration. Firstly that after being properly ill in the run-up to Christmas a flat walk was called for and secondly as it was a bank holiday I wanted a route that would avoid the worst of the crowds. I think I managed both.
Start: Curbar Gap car park (SK 2637 7476)
Route: Curbar Gap car park - White Edge (TP) - White Edge Moor - Barbrook Reservoir - Ramsley Reservoir - Jack Flat - Baslow Edge - Curbar Gap car park
Distance: 8.75 miles Ascent: 236 metres Time Taken: 4 hours 5 mins
Terrain: On good paths.
Weather: Cold but clear.
Pub Visited: The Wheatsheaf Hotel, Baslow Ale Drunk: Jennings Cumberland

On Jack Flat we passed our fourth and final Companion Stone of the day.

Curbar Edge catches some sun. We thought the car park was busy when we left but a few seconds after taking this shot we realised how wrong we were. There were no spaces in the car park at all, or along most of the road in either direction. We clearly did well to get a walk away from most of the crowds.
